The House
As a location house, Sea Gem has much to offer. The interior and exterior work together to deliver sleek, contemporary settings with enviable architectural features, stunning interior decor, and, natural and artificial light combinations for any shot you require.
You'll also find locally discovered artefacts throughout the interior scheme designed by Caroline Robinson; look out for a porthole mirror from a nearby antique fair, an old ship's funnel used as a store for kindling, and a reinvigorated winch in the entrance lobby.
The Ground Floor
The main entrance leads into a hallway with amazing views straight through to the beach and sea. To the rear of the house is a games room with a modern interior scheme and spectacular bi-fold sliding doors leading to the decked terrace, which overlooks the beach and outside seating area.
There are three double bedrooms, with nautical and contemporary schemes, all with stunning bathrooms. There are two sea-facing bedrooms, one with its own sliding doors opening out to a terrace overlooking the sands. The third bedroom overlooks fields to the rear.
The First Floor
A feature spiral staircase leads up to the first floor and the spacious open-plan living area. This area encompasses the state-of-the-art kitchen (Miele and American fridge/freezer), the minimalist dining area, and the lounge with frameless floor to ceiling glazing to maximise the views of the beach.
There are sliding doors leading from the dining area onto the V-shaped 1st floor terrace with outdoor seating.
A feature of the lounge is the large Bodart & Gonay contemporary log burning stove and its accompanying log storewood pile.
The master bedroom suite is stunning in its simplicity and features a dressing room and bathroom with over sized bath, from which you can look out across the sands to the horizon.
The Exterior
The built-in sunken seating area lies adjacent to the beach and has a contemporary fire pit, there's also a shower and decked boardwalk to the
beach.
Architectural features include several decked terraces with a selection of fabulous windows ranging from porthole to narrow landscape to floor to ceiling glazing and bi fold doors.
There's also an exterior spiral staircase and amazing angular structural details on all three floors, offering great flexibility and diversity.
The landscaping design was the work of multi-award-winner Jo Thompson , Gold Medal winner at the Chelsea Flower show 2010 and the Sea Gem garden has already won the award for Best Rural Garden 2011 from the New Homes Gardens Awards.
